Red is for the blood-red roses sitting in the vase,
Orange is for my big-eyed pomtaro sitting on the shelf,
Yellow is for P’nut the efelant sitting in the bedroom,
Green is for the throw sitting on the sofa,
Blue is for the dragon sitting next to P’nut,
Indigo is for my well-loved cardigan sitting in the wardrobe,
Violet is for the flowers sitting on my imaginary lavender plant.

Tater: Did you see the lavender plant?
Spud: Lol, yes. A bit runty, innit?
Tater: Runty is one way to put it, its itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny. But guess what, it has friends today! Two more, they can have a party soon
Spud: Oh! Excellent.
Tater: Oh, pooh. Someone has just reminded me that they are in different pots so they can’t have a party after all
They’ll have to make do hollering at each other.
Spud: Party-pooper. Maybe you can set up a little can and string system for them to talk.
Tater: Good idea! I’ll go find a thimble now.

E’s one-year old, C is at that phase in life when everything she finds must go through a “taste-test”. Last week, E turned around to find C holding a snail up to her mouth. Horrified, E quickly removed the snail and admonished C: “No, you cannot eat the snail!”
Having overheard E scolding C for trying to taste the snail, E’s three-year old - S - decides she should act the part of big sister. So the next time they are in the garden and they see another snail, S says to C: “C, you must not eat the snail because if you do then the snail will cry.”
Aww, poor snail.
